CBDC August Update - The Pathway To Technocratic Apartheid


On the 29th of November, the Atlantic Council will hold a first-of-its-kind event, a gathering of leaders from international financial institutions, central banks, businesses, technology providers, and governments aiming to explore and understand the issues countries must consider before issuing a CBDC.

The Reserve Bank is collaborating with the Digital Finance Cooperative Research Centre (DFCRC), a White Paper released on 26 September outlined the objectives and approach of the project. The CBDC Conference was held in May 2023 with the submission winners, who are participating on the project. All my freedom of information for transparency were denied under commercial in confidence. The conference discussed CBDC verses stable coin, programmability and transparency. Daniel Lavecky, Co-Founder of global fintech CANVAS, facilitating the historic first-ever FX transaction using the CBDC, eAUD, to USDC stablecoin.

This landmark moment marks a significant milestone in the roadmap of digitising traditional fiat currencies and the potential of tokenised deposits on the blockchain.

The Financial Regulator Assessment Authority, is developing a new regulator metrics framework, consultations closed on the 27th of July 2023. After the Atlantic Council gathering the treasury.gov.au roadmap indicates new language, legislative instruments and policy will be in train to support digital transformation, such as the Digital Activities Act 2023, which will define and distinguish between data structures and data activities.


In this video I walk you through the language changes happening within the treasury portfolio, Reforms to the Payment Systems (Regulation) Act 1998 includes definition changes from "payments" to "transfers of value", consultations closed on the 7th of July 2023.

These updates are consistent with the Value Transfer Roadmap designed by Deloitte and The World Economic Forum. Consumer data right language bridges the gap between humans and value transfer with a "two way power of attorney".
