The Tasmanian government announced that it has completed a tripartite agreement with the Queensland government and Cubic Transportation System to launch a statewide smart-payment system for public transport, with $35.4 million set aside over the next four years for its implementation.

Cubic Corporation is a multinational American company that manufactures defense and public transportation equipment. The company operates through two business segments: Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) and Cubic Mission and Performance Solutions (CMPS).

In May 2021, Cubic announced that it had finalized its sale to the private equity firms Veritas Capital and Elliott Management, transforming the company from a publicly traded entity on the New York Stock Exchange into a privately held company.

Currently, the company allocates investments in four primary sectors: Aerospace Defense and National Security, Education, Sustainability and Infrastructure, and Healthcare.

Yadin B. Kaufmann is an Israeli-American technology investor, social entrepreneur, and writer. Kaufmann co-founded two venture capital firms, including Veritas Venture Partners, an Israel-based fund focused on investing in early-stage tech startups.
